Default Cabin Fresh Air Filter

Just curious if anyone has bought in the aftermarket a replacement filter. You probably know DC wants to sell you parts and filter for $14.

I bought the one from DC, have not seen an aftermarket one.

I would not recommend a cabin filter. From my experience with one of these on my 2003 GT I felt it did little or no good. Just my two cents.

Gary04GT I have to disagree with you. It's only $14.00, it doesn't hurt anything and it seems that my PT has less dust on the dash, console, etc since I installed it. It's got to be doing more to filter the air than the large hole was.

You may well be right. I almost always set my vent control to "outside" because I like breathing that clean Washington State air so I figured the filter was not doing me much good.

Pardon me for asking, but what is a Cabin Filter[:I]?? I live by the ocean not in the woods!!! I must assume it is for the air intake?

MX-5 Thanks!!! That looks like something doable. As you know in Florida we get plenty of mold & mildew. [^]

Hooligan, I have a 'How To' with photos on my website. It's under 'Mod Tips/Help', then select 'Cabin Air Filter Instalation'. Very easy to do in less than 1/2 hour. Click the link in my sig. to go to my website.
