tape marks on bumper??
seen a few posts on this but something just clicked a few secs ago...
are you guys talking about small spots on the bumper (mine's right under the tail light where the bumper meets up with the tailgate) where they didn't paint (small black spot)? Mine's really small, about ΒΌ the size of a postage stamp, but definately there. Is this something I can get fixed? Don't know if it's worth lettin them have my car for a day though.     |

bring the car back!! and call chrysler about it also, i did with wifes car ( unpainted bumpers) they look at the bumpers and ordered a new set there were tape marks on her bumpers

Check this thread, there is a photo of the tape marks on the bumper,
http://www.ptcruiserlinks.com/forum/...rms=tape,marks If yours is like this it should be covered under warranty. Ask to have your bumpers painted rather than replaced. Replacement bumpers will eventually get the tape marks again.

I had the problem with tape marks, front & back!! I had purchased it used, took it back to the dealer, they sent me to a paint shop, had it overnight and they look like new. No questions by the dealer, just called the painter and ALL covered by warrenty.

Far as I know, the tape marks are only on the '01 and '02s with unpainted (dark gray) bumpers. As the picture shows, they were strips on fron and back. Mine has them.
If your bumpers are body-color, then you have a chip in the bumper paint.

dealership here in staten island wouldn't go for the painted bumpers!! i tried he said we have to replace whats on the car!! that sucks !!and the wife has the 02 base with the dark gray bumpers

I have an 02 classic edition and had the tape marks on front and back. Went to my dealer and they were going to replace the gray with new gray but I was able to talk them into new smooth dream bumper covers and paid them a couple hundred to paint them to match the patriot blue.
Keep working on the dealer, I have seen a lot of people in the different forums who had theirs painted. Some for free. Best of luck. |
