Default cabin fresh air filter = noisy air conditioner!

I just installed the cabin air filter and, while I could live with the decreased air flow I CANNOT live with the added noise...

Anything I can do about it??

What added noise? After my install I did not notice any additional noise.

It's like a whine/whistle (no I didn't drop anything down the open vent ).
I think the B&S 5069 (extended life version of 5063) is TOO good. I found the old 5063 online and ordered two. It looked a lot thinner then the 5069 and will probably take care of the whistle.

I'll post my results.

You're welcome, I assumed that is the way it should've read.

I had the same problem with the Briggs filter. I think its smaller surface area combined with a better level of filtration causes too much restriction and excessively loads the blower motor or at least its bearings. I switched to the Mopar element and no noise or drop in the air flow since.

I've had the mopar cabin air filter since I've owned the car...no problems with noise or airflow, but what a pain in the A** to put it in! After 5-6 months, you wouldn't believe the stuff you find on it!
