Default CB Antenna

Does anyone have any luck with selecting a CB antenna for their cruiser? I'm shying away from magnetic because it has a tendancy of scratching and the through the glass type are as good as rolling down the window and yelling. [:I]

5 Speed,

You have an interesting problem if you don't want to drill any holes. I only use a CB occasionally, so I use a CB antenna with a window clip that I bought from Valco Electronics. It avoids having to drill any holes and the PT manual warns that using a magnetic mount antenna will mess up the compass calibration. If you need the CB on most of the time, the window clip is not a great solution. For occasional use it is great.

Michael......thank you very much for the info. I have a window clip antenna for my scanner and I was hoping there was one for CB's but could never find one. I'll check for a Valco Electronics near me or online. THANK YOU AGAIN

Michael....I didn't see it on their web site, so I send them an E-mail. If you've got a stock number, that might help. Again...thanks.

I had difficulty finding the over the window CB mounts about a year ago when I bought mine from Valco. You might check with Radio Shack. At one time they offered the window clip but you had to purchase the antenna and the cable separately. Here is one in the UK http://www.gadgitz.co.uk/GadgitzECFeb02/itm00593.htm
Of course if you don't mind the antenna being on the car all the time, you can get a number of CB glass mount antennae that stick on (and look like) a cellular antenna. http://www.valcoelectronics.com/Merc...ory_Code=0040D
