If you're having any paint work done on your Dream Cruiser Series 2, let me give you some fair warning. I had a scratch fixed a few months back, and using a paint-mixing machine in a body-shop, no matter how new it is, will not match the Tangerine color of your car! When we fixed the scratch, we typed the paint code into the mixing machine and it looked it up and came back saying 'Approximate Match Only', and the guy was like 'I never seen it do that before.'.What that means is that you are basically guessing on the color, even though there is a formula. When we tried to mix it it came out way too gold. The only thing that really worked was to order some PPG brand paint, and it's in PPG's 'Global' line. When we bought a pint of this, which was over $60, and thinned it as per the directions, the match was dead-on and looked great.
One of the problems with matching this color is that #1, it's metallic, and #2, it takes 5 different tints to get the color, in varying amounts.Another problem is that when they're sprayed at the factory, one day they might have more gold in the paint booth, and the next day more red, so they come out somewhat inconsistent from car to car, making it nearly impossible for people to match it up later.
Whatever you do, make sure that the person doing the painting sprays several test cards *BEFORE* slapping it on your car!
