You might bring along a video recorder, and when it happens, get it on tape. Then the dealer won't need to spend the time on a testdrive in which it might not even happen.

Also, you said it was an electronic beep. I heard one too.... I was exiting a long interstate exit ramp with my turn signal on when: "Beeeeeeeep"! I almost freaked out wondering what was wrong!

I'm guessing that there is a: "Hey You, you left your turn signal on" warning beep that I didn't know about.

It's not really a beep, but a high pitch whine or whistle. It repros 100% of the time. I can set my cruise control at 70 MPH, and the sound remains until I turn it off or get above 72 MPH.

Hello Steve:
Our 2002 PT does the same thing. I don't consider it to be whining. Our PT "sings" a most heavenly note at seventy mph. Sometimes it is a smooth even pitch. Other times it has a "warble". Can anyone deny the car has personality, & is happy on the road? I discovered I can duplicate the exact same pitch by rubbing the wheel cover with a wet chamois. (This time of the year I run stock wheels & Winterfire snow tires, from TireRack). My assumption is that at certain airspeeds the airflow between the brake rotor and wheel/wheelcover sets up a harmonic. I don't notice it as much when I have the stock chrome wheels installed. Good luck.
Den.

I have an 89 Dakota that did the same thing. It was kind of like a Harmonic Vibration that sounded like someone blowing into an empty bottle. It was coming from the seal around the driver's door vibrating, and only happened at certain speeds. It would do it much less when it was wet out, like the seal was moistened. When I got new tires, and supposedly the vibrations in the truck reduced, it went away. I would tell the Service Writer at the dealership to ride while *YOU* drive the car, so they have no liability. If thta doesn't work, go to another dealer.

I hear a whine when I open her up

Turbo whine rocks[8)]

Hears an Idea. Go to the dealer and MAKE them ride with you. Tell them its for another problem. Then just go 75mph+ [8D]

When you hear the whine, is your Mother-in-law in the car?

Sorry, couldn't help it.[)]
