Gary,
The reason you haven't see any in your area is because, where Im at we have the largest dealer in Fl. There is a Budget rent a car place that has a fifteen of them out front off and on all the time.

Does anyone know if the Steel Blue is discontinued as well.

Alot like Gary's metal flake, my Steel Blue cruiser has a metal flake coat to it to but is more rainbow candy paint. If you get close enough you can see reds, greens, white, and other blues.

I haven't seen too many Steel blue's around here, or on the site here.

Maybe mine is the Steel Blue pearlcoat? I'll have to check my window sticker sheet.

Yes, as SteelBlueGT indicated, this color is no longer available beginning with the 2004 model year. I believe it was replaced by a new color--Midnight Blue.

According to a posting by JODY the Steel Blue Pearl Coat was replaced by Seamist Green. So those of US with a Steel Blue (PBQ) may have a collectors item!!!![^]

While I had my wife's Jeep in for service today I was talking to the General Sales Manager at my dealership about paint colors for the PT Cruiser. Two-tone paint colors ($250 extra charge) are now available for individuals ordering cars. I mentioned that since I got my Seamist Green GT 4 1/2 months ago I have only seen one other car with this color on the road. Initially, when my dealer got one in it sold almost immediately. What I was told by the GSM (after checking his DC direct order computer menu) was that [u]SEAMIST GREEN is no longer available for the PT Cruiser</u> including the new convertible. This color paint may someday return but for now it is gone. He indicated that if DC decides not to offer this color again then this will increase the value of my car for trade-in and/or resale. Looks like I ended up with what has turned out to be a very "special" and rare color! [8D]

It's been a long time since I was in the army, but
I havn't cared for green ever since.wear green
underwear for a year and see how you feel. I was
hoping they would come out with a yellow one in 04,
but no luck, got a steel blue one instead.

Personally I think the "odd" colors like turquoise, greens, etc don't stay popular very long. they come and go. I remember when turquoise was hot for camaros and stuff. I know there's been many a time I've seen a car and said "Why in the world would you buy a car in that color??"
People select the color for their new car because [u]THEY LIKE IT!</u> If you buy a pre-owned vehicle then you may have to compromise on color for the sake of getting something you want that is in good condition and within your price range. So, if you like the "hat" and it "fits"--buy it and ENJOY!

I think most all of us on this board would consider the PT Cruiser to be a "sporty car" but NOT a sports car. Those of us with GT Turbos like the increased performance you get from an already sporty ride. IMHO, a sporty car calls for a [u]very sporty color</u> such as Inferno Red, Electric Blue, Deep Cranberry, Inca Gold, Tangerine, and Seamist Green--just to name a few.

Seamist Green is probably "a love it or hate it color"--much like Inca Gold, Tangerine, Deep Plum, etc. I have received more "rave reviews" on this color from people who have seen it for the first time than on any car I have ever owned including my 2003 Inferno Red GT. To my eyes, the color is very sporty and [u]the heavy metal-flake in the paint is simply stunning</u> (especially in bright sunlight). Only time will tell if this color is gone forever. In the meantime, I like owning a sporty ride with a "rare color" that stands out in a crowd. [8)]

Just my two cents. [?]

Hey Gary
Did you get up on the wrong side of the bed this morning? I was just making an observation on how some colors come and go. And of course you buy a car in a color you like. I happen to think you're car is gorgeous.

And I was only stating my position regarding "the odd colors". I didn't mean to sound defensive but guess I did. [B)] Happy cruzN! [8D] [8]

Hey guys/gals, new one here. I read this forum everyday and told myself it was about time to join in. Have an automatic 04 GT Turbo in Sea Mist Green fully loaded. Bought it in August of 03. Have had one major pblm at 1500 miles...blew a freeze plug. Ok so far! Hard ot express how much I love this car!!! [8)]

I wondered why I have only seen about two Sea Green's here in San Diego, CA. I can druve weeks between Los Angeles and San Diego and see lots of Curiser's but not Sea Mist Green ones. I like that I am one of a few.
