Folks, that hood in the spy pic doesn't look very real. It may be just a slab of sheet metal put there to cover the engine. I'd like to see the final design before I pass judgement. Also, DC is finally listening to all those complaints about how underpowered the PT is and is trying to wedge a V6 between those front wheels. They may have had to sacrifice a bit of style to do this. Let's hope they've come to a decent compromise. *Crosses fingers*

I hope if they do offer the V6 that they don't drop the Turbo in the process like Mopar did when they dropped the 2.5L Turbo in favor of the 3.0 Mitsu V6 back in the 90s.
I have to agree with PT-ERA.This looks like a test mule to me and totally unfinished. Another interesting thing are those small vents in the mask at the bottom. Now unless they're there to allow cooling for a tranny cooler (I doubt it), wouldn't be nice to think that it's for cooling for an Intercooler? Speculating is fun!

This was on SRT4/Chrysler forums.
PT Cruiser will get facelift for 2006 ![]() Chrysler is testing early prototypes of the next-generation PT Cruiser, which is scheduled to arrive in spring 2006. Although the vehicle's profile won't change dramatically, Chrysler designers have created a fresh new face that will tie the next PT Cruiser more closely to the rest of the Chrysler vehicle family. That means a new grille and new twin-headlight theme. Supplier sources say the next PT will shift from its current front-wheel-drive platform, which is shared with the Dodge Neon, to a new compact platform that is being engineered primarily by Mitsubishi Motors Corp., in which Chrysler parent DaimlerChrysler AG holds a 37 percent stake. This new chassis, which can be configured for front- and all-wheel-drive models, will be shared with the next-generation Neon, as well as the redesigned Mitsubishi Lancer and Outlander. -- Paul Lienert

Hi Everyone. In the spy pic of the rear-end for the white PT, does the rear suspension look different to anyone else??? To me it looks like it has independent suspension, not the standard I-beam, maybe for awd PT???.....Thanks, just wondering....
