Default Auto World Magazine

Just for general information, I received the March issue of Auto World yesterday and they are saying that there will be a review and test-drive of the new PT convertable in the April issue.[8)] Also there is a paragraph in there under the article "When is a truck a truck?" and it states that government rules now allow Chrysler to consider the PT Cruiser as a light truck.[:I]

I read that, too. The government "arms" don't always agree with one another. For CAFE (Corp average fuel economy) purposes, the PT is a light truck because the seats can be flipped and produce a flat floor. I find it funny that many PT owners gripe about fuel economy, yet it helps pull up the average of the V-8 gas guzzlers.

The Gov't is trying to change the rules now because it pissed them off when DCX got the PT classified as a truck.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has classed the PT Cruiser as a light truck since the beginning. I wonder what government rules they are talking about.
