Ok guys I need some help here! I see all over the place genereation 2 and 3 taillights and they call them alteeza or alteeza style but they appear to be made by different people. What does generation 2 or 3 mean and what does alteeza mean??

SteelBlueGT, generation 1, generation 2 or generation 3 is simple referring to the variations in production. Gen 1 was the first production model; gen 2, the 2nd product model, etc. As far as Altezza, not sure, it's Italian with the following meaning:
altezza [altettsa]
(n) (f) (di edificio, persona) height;
(quota) height, altitude;
(di suono) pitch;
(di acqua, pozzo) depth;
(di tessuto) width;
(fig, d'animo) greatness;

Altezza, I believe means that it looks light the Lexus IS-300, Altezza tails that they have stock.

It a all chrome finished interior clear covered light that is only white turn signals and red brake lights.

Check my pic above.

Mine are Gen 3, they are just not the RETRO lenses. It even says so on the box....This was the first issue of the new GEN 3 line...the RETRO followed...

Cruise On!

Ok, guess I was right the first time when I listed links to your type of tail light. Hope no one has gotten confused.

Just to clear everyone up. The term Altezza when referring to tail lights generally means that the shell on the tail light is clear. An altezza light does not necessarily need to have any chrome on it as there are veriations which include carbon fiber and paintable models. As for the generations, the term generation is not specific to any certain tail light company. APC started with the generation tag and other companies followed suit. Generation means what edition tail light it is. So to sum everything up, a generation 2 Altezza tail light, is the second in a series of tail lights most likely with a clear shell.

So the term Alteeza does not indicate a manufacturer just a style. And the generation 1 2 or 3 is manufacturer series determined, again does not indicate manufacturer!! So by knowing it is an alteeza generation 3 means not much till I know the manufacturer or see a pic??
