the way I understand it the alarm is on if you lock
your door withthe remote or push button on door to lock. however if you get out of your car and manually push the lock down without the button,the alarm is not set.I needed the key to unlock door,if I locked keys inside.so I don't care if alarm goes off,I can turn it off when I get in.I did get a key (.99) made at the hardware store and it did not hurt my chip key.[?]
