That's cool! (the Blaine's holding the hood at various angles)

I guess that is because there is no spring or anything to push it up all the way..?

OK, I have to say this because, like, I feel, like, innundated by Blaine's...similar to all of those AOL CD's. Personally, to my taste, the struts make just a bit of clutter.

I wonder if the OEM hood-stick-prop-thing can be shortened (cut, weld, chrome) for the same result, and swap between the two..?

I Have a super hood prop for the Basset Hound Cruiser. Somehow I don't think it would work for you though.

Chrome plumbing pipes in 1 1/2" or 1 1/4" work great. They make them in 12" and 16" lenghts. Cover the ends with a little tape to protect your paint and hide that with the plumbing cover plates for that size pipe...look great and are cheap.

I also have a setup made with 2 pieces of plexiglass about 18" High that I put a computer generated pic of our Pt and a Mods list sandwiched between them and use that as a hood prop. Even had small vinyl stickers made with all the logos from the companys that I used for those mods around the edge. The clear plexiglass allows peeps to still see engine details and read all the mods that were done at the same time. Boltedthe 2 pieces together with crome bolts and acorn nuts to make it look nice and allows me to change the list and pic anytime.
