Default Cracked Windshield
My windshield is cracked on the lower drivers side, coming out from the pillar.
No signs of a rock chip, has got to be from stress.

Has anyone had their windshield replaced under warranty?

Also - just got eibach springs installed.
Im thinking they helped cause the crack....

I had a stress crack in my windshield at about 11,000 miles. My 5 Star Dealer confirmed that there wasn't a rock chip and replaced the windshield under warranty.

Rob,

I've had Eibach's on for nearly 3 years and no windshield stress cracks. You can try the dealer for a warranty repair, but your own car insurance should cover a new windshield with no deductable and no raised rates (if you've not had many/any claims).

How did you get stress cracks in the windows? If there are stress cracks I would think that there is something wrong.[:I]

The dealer claimed that when my windshield was installed they left one of the "spacers" out on the lower drivers side and the windshield was up against the metal. Didn't see it during the change out so I don't know if he was blowing smoke or not.

I'm on my second windshield also, but it was a rock that took it out.

If you can't get it replaced under warranty then your auto insurance should cover it for you at no charge. I know in CT glass coverage is a $2/year add to the comprehensive portion of my insurance.

I got a rock, too, hehehe.




You will pay higher insurance premiums if you claim the small stuff. This is very true with homeowner's insurance as well.
