From the first I thought it was one cool looking car. But, since I am 6'4" and at the time over 300lb I thought it would not ever be something that would "fit" my life. I turned 50 last year and shed a bunch of weight and decided to take a closer look at them. It fit great and I loved the performance. So now I have a 2003 Dream Cruiser sitting in my garage and cannot wait for better weather to really start enjoying it. My wife is the one who pushed for the Tangerine color. I thought I was more partial to the Inferno Red, but am really glad I got the Dream.
My wife drives a 2001 Excursion that is an olive drab green. I suggested getting it painted the Tangerine color this summer and I cannot remember her being so thrilled.

I loved the look when Motor Trend first started showing the PT but when I kept hearing Neon I was sure it wasn't for me. When I did start looking for an economical small wagon type car I stopped and sat in a Cruiser just as a process of elimination. I'm 6'-6" and to my surprise it had great head & legroom. I was hooked & was just a matter of time until I found the right silver 5 speed. Two weeks later I had my Cruiser which was going to stay stock except for the visor airbag label covers & a Kustom Kruiser licence plate bracket. That plan didn't work out to well but its been a fun trip. It turned my 40 commute into a Cruise.

Loved the car from the moment I saw one !!!! reminded me of when I had hair , Long flowing Hair!!! In a ponytail no less well I digress.
Every day just keeps getting better, learning more about the car. It's neat finding out all the people who are so involved with their cars. I used to own a 73 rag top corvette and believe it or not I like the PT better (more STUFF)

My "First PT" sighting is a bit unusual, I was having my 97 Stratus serviced at my local Chrysler dealer. I had been seeing posts about the new PT in the Chrysler newsgroup, so I asked when the dealership would have one to look at. I was told that one was supposed to be there that weekend.

Well, that weekend I visited the dealership, and of course, the promised PT hadn't arrived. The salesman told me, "If you really want to see one, go down the street to the Mazda dealership, he's got one right out in front of his showroom." I couldn't believe what I was hearing, "You mean a Chrysler dealer is still waiting to get one, and a MAZDA dealer is showing a PT?" I said, "You're kidding right?". The salesman said that he wasn't kidding, and that it was probably because the Mazda dealer wanted to get people to stop at his showroom, even though the PT is a Chrysler product!

Well, truth is stranger than fiction, there was indeed a brand new PT sitting in front of the Mazda dealership. And it was getting people to stop, because there was a group of people crowded around it. Even though I was curious, the thought of a Mazda salesman trying to sell me a car was enough to keep me away.

I did stop back at the Chrysler dealership a week later and saw a black PT. I wasn't too impressed, but at the time I was in love with my Stratus and had no plans to buy another car for a while.

Two years later and a 1200 mile move to Florida later, my wife & I drove a 2002 Bright Silver Unlimited home. Since then we've added the OEM flame kit, Sirius radio, Airaid cold air intake and some chrome in the engine compartment. We've also joined the Tampa Bay PT Cruiser Club, went to "Cruise the Falls 3" last year up in Niagara Falls, Canada, and are registed to go to "Cruise the Falls 4"!!

I still can't believe the first one I laid eyes on, was at a Mazda dealer!!
