Not only didn't I like the PT when I first saw it, I hated it when I bought it!!
The only reason I got a PT in the first place was because my old VW Jetta died on my, and my uncle is a Chrysler dealer. He told me that he could give me a great deal on a car, but only the PT, and only from the stock that he had in the lot. I was trying to hold out for the Neon SRT-4, but he didn't know when he was getting one. So I felt kinda stuck with it when I got it, and wasn't happy at all. My, how the times have changed since then! ![]() I can't picture myself drving anything else right now!!! [8)]

I liked them the first day I saw them on the Chrysler web site before they went on sale.
But I don't think I looked too close at first because I was left with the impression this would be a bigger vehicle all around, I was kind of surprised when I saw one and realized it was smaller, still loved it though. Test drove a stock PT 2 years ago and was not impressed with the performance at all, in fact it was a real let down for me. Then out comes the GT - that was it, had to have one. Lucky for me my wife went through a snow bank with our leased Caravan (blah) and the serpentine belt fell off. I had it towed to the dealer and there it was - shiny black paint and all that cool chrome, we only had three months left on the lease of the van, the dealer offered to take the van back the way it was, no penalty for the extra KLMs or clean up charges, he even dropped the last three months payment, I could not resist, picked up the PT the next day. It was a bit of an impulse buy but I have not regretted anything about it, ever, in fact I have never really owned a vehicle that I liked so much. Now when I drive our SUV or any other "normal" car it is just boring. The GT PT is fun, I actually look forward to driving to work!!

Got to the point that 250 lbs of dogs wasn't working out so well in the back of the Maxima so I had to shop. I always wanted a vette but that was out. Minivan, as others have said "boring". Wanted something fun for me and something the dogs would have enough room in. What else was there but the GT Cruiser. Took the back seats out, put the dogs back there and me up front doing the cruising. Love it after 18 months. Still has a very high fun factor.[?]

LOL! "Lucky for me my wife went through a snow bank with our leased Caravan" That is funny for so many reasons. That can be, like, in one of those controversial Chrysler commercials. " Not only didn't I like the PT when I first saw it, I hated it when I bought it!!" ROFL! Man...just...then...why...? hehe Kinda like Metallica's ...And Justice for All album--everyone hated it at first, but a month or so later everyone could not get enough of it. I first saw the PT in a magazine in 1999. I thought that it was the coolest looking car by far. I had the same experience PianT did...thought it would be a lot larger when I saw one in person. At the time, I was not looking to buy a car and never crossed my mind. A few months ago, when my cars were no longer economically feasible to keep, I decided it was time to buy a new car. By "car" I meant "PT Cruiser". I just always knew that is what I was going to buy next without really giving it any thought. I looked at the Nissan Murano (on web sites) for about ten minutes and decided that the product was not worth the cost to me. Nothing else (under $50,000) remotely grabbed my attention. |

I have loved the PTCruiser since it was a concept car. Got one when they very first came out and traded it for a GT this past summer. So I have been driving a cruiser for four years come October and still look back and admire it every time I get out of it.

It was one of those ixed emotion things, I liked em at first, well teh front end mostly. Then I thought "exactly WTF is that thing anyway?". Then for a long time i was considering getting a j-body and customizing it and all of a sudden one day i was on car domain and saw the green pt with the crusher kit and thought ya know, thats a sweet lookin car when ya do a lil work to it. From then on I was all about a PT[8]
