i just installed my hella horns last sat...MAN THEY'RE LOUD..i paid someone to do it and decided to install at same location...they're so loud it penetrates into the car...maybe in the future i'll place them somewhere around the grille...
otherwise i like the sound...i still much rather have it too loud and not loud enough, as before...so i'm very happy with my horns

quicksilver, I think I have the same horn. I was expecting the sound like from the original model "T". this is more of a whimpy dead sound. who knows it might sound better if I stuff a sock inside it/
The only one that sounds good is the real thing but they are over $200. I have had problems with the same horn and have found you can adjust it. There is an allen screw in the rear of the horn that adjust the tone. You have to play with it but I think you can get a better tone if you spend some time playing with it.

Ok friends I could use the link to order the Hella horns. The link above only goes to look at them.

But before I order I need to know if I could install these all by my lonesome, and not have a shop do it.

It turns out the original post on this that had the link has been removed.

Any 4WD shop that carries Hella products can get these for you, even if they don't have them on the shelf. You can also check out Griot's Garage, JC Whitney, and several others on the web.
You can also try any of these places:

Did they install the horns in the OEM location under the right fender?
Or should they be installed behind the grill. I plan on installing a set this spring when I install my power antenna. []

All, I ordered the horns from Griots Garage on the web. I installed them on the cross brace behind the Grille. Used the oem holes, and didn't even have to drill the brace. Installed a relay by the battery energized by a connection to the hot lead from the stock horns. I also installed a set (4 horns 2 hi & 2 lo note) new horn kit from an Oldsmobile Alero. Two in the original horn location, and 2 in the same location on the drivers side of the cruiser. When I hit the horn switch on the steering wheel the sound is loud enough to wake the dead. When the alarm goes off it literally hurts your ears to stand in front of the cruiser. That may be a little extreme for others, but I think its great. But thats just me.......

Alan, I didn't think of that. I had my installer remove the stock horn, I guess I should of left it there only to add a more intense sound. although on my 2003 I only hand one horn, not 2.

What about these? If the price was less I might go for these, they would match my cruiser better.
http://www.jcwhitney.com/webapp/wcs/...&storeId=10101

So far I found these links:

http://www.denunzioracing.com/Mercha...Category_Code=
Priced at $57.95

http://www.7453217467431.com/product...&affiliate=DFX
Priced at $66.70

http://www.performanceproducts.com/P...producttype=10
Priced at $67.95
I found out this one gets $16.99 off for a total of $50.96
And has 13.25 for standard 1-6 day shipping. For a total of 64.21

You have to type 85115 to get to this one for some reason it won't copy over.
http://www.quadratec.com/cgi-bin/sgsh0101.exe
Priced at $73.95
This has an estimated 14.99 shipping charge.

I did not check the shipping.

So which one seems the best if I can't find one in a local shop?
