Default power steering cap

The garage lost the power steering cap and every factory replacement I get doesn't fit! There is a rag stuck in it now to stop it from leaking. I had one of the first cruisers made, could this be my problem? Help!

Sugoi,

Welcome to the forum. If the garage is taking the blame for loosing the cap, let them keep trying to get you a replacement. Keep asking the dealer what their doing to replace the cap and maybe they'll have to get you a whole new reservoir. Apparently there must be some difference in the caps with the early model PTs. Good luck getting a replacement.

sugoi, welcome to the forum. That could be your problem, I know some of the aftermarket chrome power steering caps will not work on some of the early 2001 PTs.

Sugoi;

Was the garage in question a Chrysler dealer? If it was demand a rental till it's fixed to your satisfaction. Have you tried Chrysler?

The design of the PS pump was changed very early in production.
It was long before the major change on June 24th, 2000.

I've only seen one of the very early pumps.
