Default 03 PT

I just purchased a 03 PT Touring in Electric Blue, and just joined this site. So Hi to all. one quick question....wheres the dang spark plugs... I've been working on autos for 35 years and it still suprises me how they stuff them in there. The belts look like a lot of fun to change too...lol
Well thanks, and Hi

Blade,

WELCOME to the forum.

The PT is not really that hard to work on. The spark plugs are under the intake manifold. Although not readily accessed, it only takes about 1/2 hour to change them. The five small bolts that hold the two halves of the manifold have to taken off. Two bolts for the EGR valve in the back of the engine and one bolt on the throttle body. The intake just lifts away revealing the plugs. As far as the belts and power steering unit, water pump etc., all these can be accessed from the passenger side wheel well. The inside covering comes away to reveal the front of the engine. If you plan to do the major work on your own PT, joining www.ptdoityourself.net would probably be your best bet to answer all your questions and show you step by step how to do almost anything to your PT.

Welcome, Blade! Just be glad it's not a transverse V-6 - ever try to get at the "back" 3 on those??
I agree the plugs were done stupidly - on the turbo with a different intake manifold you can get at them, I'm told.
Crewzin gave you the go-thru - 3 different bolt sizes, and drop any of them and the time goes up considerably.

Blade, you will like this forum, there is hardly a question about Cruisers that can't be answered here. They have been an invaluable help to me with picking out the right dual exhaust to buy and then help with installation and many other mods I have undertaken.
