gonzomania,
For all outer body panels, you have a 5 yr/100,000 mile warranty for rust-through. Are you sure it isn't fallout? Claybar the areas and let us know.... Scott

Guess it's possible, but very hard to believe it's rust coming up thru the paint. Suppose it could have been faulty preparation, but certainly not common.

What you are seeing is rail dust. The friction from the hot steel wheels of the train against and steel tracks creates hot metal fragments that fall on your car when being shipped from factory. I see this all the time. Most obvious on lighter color cars. Clay car will remove it. Gary

I am guessing rail dust too. My wife's '03 Honda Odyssey has it very badly. It looks like the whole car has broken out with rust pimples.
One dealer will cover it under warranty, the other says it's not Honda's fault, it's my problem. I guess it is my fault. I am always shipping it via train tracks (not really). On another note, the guy next to me in the Honda Service was standing next to his Element (still had In-Transits) and holding a giant piece of flat cardboard drenched in fluids. He was not happy about the Honda marking it's territory. Isn't Honda supposed to be known for it's high quality and great customer service?
