Default Cruisers on Alligator Alley

Alligator Alley is a toll road between Naples and Ft. Lauderdale Florida. It is a part of I-75 and is about 80 miles long and cuts right through the heart of the Florida Evergaldes. I usually average about 80 MPH , so the trip from toll booth to toll booth takes 1 hour give or take a few minutes. Today I was returning home from a trip to the Tampa Bay area and I decided to let my girlfriend drive the final leg across Alligato Alley. Right after we passed the toll booth getting on the Alley I saw 3 PT Cruisers passing us going westbound. Then I saw 2 more. 5 PT's within the first 5 minutes.
Then I started thinking how many will we pass in one hour. So I started counting........By the way, the whole weekend, whenever either one of us would see a PT, we would point it out to the other. Are we weird or do other people do this??? We saw many nice PT's on the West Coast........Anyway, After such a fast start, I was hoping to count at least 25 Cruisers on the Alley....but the total was 19, which I still think is alot of Cruisers!!!!
By the way....the hour flew by and it was the most fun I've ever had on that boring strech of road. I'm 52 years old and was playing a kids game counting cars....I owe this all to my PT....what a joy!

[8D]WOW! 19 PTs in an hour? Were some of them in a club (all together)? I live in Hollywood (formerly Pompano Beach) and the only time I see that many Cruisers together is at the Tower Shoppes on Friday nights OR on a club run. You going to Daytona in May? Hint - You'll see ALOT more than 19 PTs.

BP,

There was a PT car show held on the east coast at the Ron John's Surf Shop..I think around the Daytona area. There were about 80 PTs in attendance. You might have seen a bunch of them coming home to the east coast after the show. My club is the Tampa Bay Cruisers and I know at least 3 of the members went to the show. Of course it might have been something completely different why you saw all those cruisers. [:I]

My club, (Space Coast PT Cruisers) co-sponsored the car show with the Cruisers of South Florida and Ron Jon's. We had to cut off the registration at 55 cars as there was not the room to park anymore. Most of the PT's were parked on their front lawn. Chrysler also provided 2 convertibles for the show. They came with 4 young ladies in 2 piece bathing suits.

Many of us would have ordered one with the "accessories" but our wives said we couldn't afford them!!!

A great time was had by all, many nice cars there. We are planning to go to Daytona in May.

Yeah...I knew about the Ron Jons event and did think that some of the cars might be coming home. Then I thought they probably would go across the state on I-4 rather that go all the way down to Ft Lauderdale. Anyway only 2 of the cars had any visible mods. I think it was just a fluke.

FYI: I-4 to Daytona is out of the way to Ron Jon's. Ron Jon's is 60 south of Daytona. They could have taken I-4 to Orlando, then the Bee Line (528) to Cocoa Beach.
