well guys to tell you the truth if your PT is not a turbo it does not have a speed limiter as the car does not have enough HP to push the car fast enough the weight of the car + the drag of the wind will not let the car go faster than 118 MPH in the best condistions the car does have a rev limiter ..... as to weather or not you could change it if it did have one you would have to beable to break the codeing in both the PCM as well as the cluster where the speed sensors are located ...the turbo does have a speed limiter and it is set at 128 MPH and the revlimiter is set at 6200 RPM both of these use a fuelpump cut off switch ... so when you reach them it shuts off the fuel supplie to the engine thus slowing you down ... it is a funny feeling when it happens for the first time ....hehehehe not that i would drive my PT that fast [8)]

Ditto on the funny feeling when you hit the revlimiter at 6200RPM for the first time (have not reach top end speed yet and can't around my local area!]) I thought I had lost my engine in a seizure of some kind but it comes right back when the RPMs drop and the electronic fuel pump kicks back in. I've taken engines beyond redline before but the PT cuts you off before you can actually damage the engine.

I've been told that Kenne Belle can remove the limiter and reprogram your computer for a higher top speed. A guy at our show this weekend had it done, and when he rev'd the engine, you could def tell a difference.

The company is in Rancho Cucamonga, CA.
He sent his computer to them and they shipped it back the next day.
