Auto stick

I feel dumb for asking but I'm new to this sight, and only had my PT for a couple of months. I seen pic's with what look like a auto shifter but has a boot and has a + &- says auto stick. I've not seen that before is that a turbo thing or what?

Looks like there are two threads running basically the same question.

The AutoStick is only available on the GT. In D it works like the regular automatic. In A/S (AutoStick) mode, the instrument panel shift display shows what gear you are in and you shift manually by pushing the stick to the right + to upshift and to the left - to downshift. You control the shifts (within reason). The computer will not let you do something really stupid (like downshift into first at 80 mph). The computer will shift the car into 1st gear after you come to a complete stop if you don't downshift it first.

To the best of my knowledge you can't buy a kit to change a regular automatic to an AutoStick.
