Default Living the interior lights on to kill the battery

Someone once asked if the battery would die if you left the interior lights on for too long.

I experienced this first hand a few weeks ago when I had left one of the map lights on for 11 hours.

I was still on in the mourning and it was fine.

The "Map Lights" come on when you turn off the key, so if you already tapped it on when you stopped, you can easily leave it on overnight.

I think it would have been better if only the dome light turned on automatically, and the map lights were entirely manual, but they didn't ask me.

I'm glad your battery withstood it.

If you lived up North where it gets below freezing, it may have drained enough so you wouldn't have been able to start the car, or if your battery was older, like mine, it also may not have made it.

I do think all of the interor lights have a safety timer on them if left on they will shut off after 20 minutes even if you leave a door open the over head lights will turn off

I've left map lights on overnight. So far the battery has been able to take it, but I still don't like coming out and finding lights on!

DT's PTGT,
Now you know how I felt when I had seen my light on.
