Default Problem with the PT

I have only owned this car 9-10 months. I really like it and love driving it. However I really would like the power and performance of the GT. I also really like the convertable. I feel that mine my not get the same attention as the GT or the convertable back like it did when I first bought it.

Anyone else get the same felling.

The waving and the pointing from people has subsided, but I still get a charge out of driving my wife's '01 (my first PT) and especially my '03 GT. Just yesterday my wife was at my work with her '01 and a lady leaving for home saw her in it and she was telling us how she loved the PT and wanted one.

King,
If you notice in all the commercials on TV, Convertible is only shown with the top down. I don't like the look of the car with the top up, but everybody is entitled to their opinion. To me it looks like one of the cars in the 80's that went with the fake convertible top. What's up with the tail gate does that go up or down?

I think your biggest problem is a lack of power to go with your car's muscular look. The car looks fine to me, I think maybe you either just wanna go faster, since it looks faster, or you have new car fever.
If you decide to get rid of it in favor of another car like a GT or Convertible, make sure you pull all of that stuff you have on it off of it.You won't get hardly anything more for the car just because it's on there than you would if it wasn't, although it may help you sell it quicker.
If I were you, and the car was just about paid off, I would get my hands on a Whipple Supercharger setup. I saw a used one on eBay not too long ago.
Even though I now have the Dream 2, I still want to go back and get a nice unmolested Dream 1 and add a Whipple to it at some point.

Good luck!

NO! Don't do that! If you don't mind getting a new car, get the GT. The Whipple takes a lot of effort and money to get it remotely to the level of power that is claimed. And then you don't get the stronger transmission. I put the Whipple on mine because i am attached to my car and will never get rid of it, no matter what. (Love the supercharger, it just was a pain the butt.) It was my first new car, I followed it from the very beginning of the prototype, and I waited 6 months for it to come in. Your car looks great! In a couple months, there will be convertables all over the place too.
I miss the uniqueness of the PT also, but thats just the way it goes i guess.

Good Question, I thought about that also and I just got the 2002 Limited only about 4 months ago. I like it but thiers a lot of hopla about the turbo and the convertable. It will be nice to see one when they hit the market in Hawaii. But then again new isn't always better. I was told by a macanic not to buy the turbo because the engine will wear sooner due to the force air pump working the engine harder. I don't know anything about turbo except it goes faster, does it run hotter? Are they proven to last? Anyone?
2002 limited is pratical more room than the convert less wimsical. And if you every had a convertable you know the top is a lot to keep up on you have to baby it and even then you need to look at a new one in about 5 years. I guss it depends on your finical situation and your need? For some like my wife convertable it where it's at she love her sebring convet. Any way that's my thought for what its worth.

I am not a ragtop person but having owned an 01 Limited and now an 03 GT, buy a new one, convertible or GT doesn't matter you will go crazy over the turbo. I got so many cash back incentives (total of $ 4,200.00)that it made it easy for me to switch.
