Good idea, Fritz! While we're at it, I also found a battery terminal brush combo in an auto store - a ring to clean the post, a brush to clean the inside of the clamp - both wire bristle. Clean the connections, clamp tight, and smear vaseline over to help prevent corrosion.

What size is the nut on the negative cable wire. Mine is stritped and I can hardly remove it and need a new one. I check with an auto parts store and the one I bought was too big.

Any help
Thanks.
I suggest you buy a pair of replacement clamp-on cable end terminals (+ and -), and cut off and replace the cheesy stamped steel pieces of cheap-a$$ crap D-C supplied.

Installation takes a few minutes, and future problems caused by bad battery connections will be avoided.
Fritz,
Are you the one that has the cool looking plastic ones on your PT?
How would I go about finding and replaceing these parts.

Do you have any relatives that live in FL.

No, I still got the (corroded) OEM junk.
It's on my 'next trip to the parts store' list.

As for where to find them: your neighborhood parts store?

Tell the parts counter guy you want to just replace the connector on the battery end of the battery cable.

Before installing clean the battery terminals with a paste of baking soda and water to neutralize the acid (scrub with an old toothbrush) (wear eye protection and old clothes, flush with Plenty of Water!)

Be sure to use more baking soda paste to clean your tools...

after installing the new terminal(s) and reconnecting the battery coat the terminals with petroleum jelly (vasoline).

Wash thoroughly... that corrosion is nasty.

Do NOT use aftermarket ends until you absolutely have to!
All you're doing is creating a second connection for corrosion to start.
Use the chemical washers or spray protectant on the originals after you've throughly cleaned them and the posts.

Thank you both for the suggestions. I think I will just stick to stock and fine the correct nut.
