The only cruisers in the US shipped by water are some that have been bought in Florida, starting in late summer of 2000. Shipping by boat to Florida turned out cheaper than trains. I seriously doubt that the conditions you described would cause Chrysler to replace the whole PT Cruiser.

I would fall dead in my boots if a dealer replaced a car for that. I agree with everyone, cars are shipped my rail. If you were located overseas, it would be on a vessel. I see you are in the states.

Usually DC would send a letter to anyone who required a recall notice. They would not have called you on the phone. sounds like a hoax to me.

Sounds wierd.
If I live by the beach, can I claim the same thing?
If so, that sets a dangerous precedent...unless,
the freighter sunk, they righted it, dried out the cars that were miraculously still strapped to the deck and then sent them in as new...all without DCX corporate knowing until after the shipment was recieved.

Yeah, drop off the PT at our storage facility and we will deliver your new car to your home is say, oh I don't know, a day or two? Cars that ARE shipped by sea are in sealed car carrier ships. They don't just line them up on the deck.

There's one for sale in Lauderdale-by-the-Sea. Just a few minutes north of Fort Lauderdale. By the way, that's no joke - there really IS a condemned pier (privately owned) for sale.
