Just kidding.
Seriously, any recall DC has you recieve a notification. The dealership has to furnish you with proper notification.
For the life of me, I have never heard of recalling an entire car and replacing it,especially ona swap.
Confirm before you do anything.

You would think something this big would make the news, no?

I remember an instance where DC recalled some Prowlers because the aluminum frame wasn't heat-treated properly.Owners of affected cars got a new car.
This one sounds like BS to me.

Not too far fetched. I live in PA and my Cruiser was damaged in shipment by saltwater. All PT's sold in the mid-Atlantic states are shipped via boat from a port on the east coast of Mexico. My car made it to the Port of Baltimore where it was flagged for saltwater damage. Chrysler sold it as salvage. I had to then re-order another one. The entire process took 4 months until a car arrived at my dealer. Reminded me of my first ordered Cruiser, and that was 4 PT's ago.

Geez, this is an easy one....why don't you just call your dealer and verify it.

Okay, it's not a joke. I have contacted my dealer and they had all the paperwork...my car was manufactured in Sept 03 and shipped to the Port of Baltimore and that's when Hurricane Isabel blew in and some of the cars received salt water damage. So they are replacing my car...they have found another like it in New York. According to Chrysler it's not just PT Cruisers, it's whatever was manufactured in Mexico in Sept 03 and shipped to Baltimore during the Hurricane.

Looks like my birthday month strikes again.

Maybe the cars got wet after they were of the ship? Is this what they say? That sounds more likely.

You kidding, right? You're just finding out about this now, 6 months later? My car was damaged in the same storm back in November and I demanded that my dealer re-order. My second car arrived in January. Geez, you mean you have been waiting all this time for a call from your dealer? I would think that after say, 2 months went by with no word, you would have become a little suspicious at the least. It's 8 weeks to receive an ordered PT. MAYBE a week or two longer with conditions. I just can't believe anyone would accept waiting half a year before becoming concerned.

I didn't wait a half a year! I just purchased the car end of Feb 04, and they contacted me. You would think however they would have contacted the dealer before the car was ever sold. I had no idea how these things arrived at the dealer and really didn't care. Anyway a new car is on it's way (I hope by rail).
