I didn't wait a half a year! I just purchased the car end of Feb 04, and they contacted me. You would think however they would have contacted the dealer before the car was ever sold. I had no idea how these things arrived at the dealer and really didn't care. Anyway a new car is on it's way (I hope by rail).
That's great! You have no incentive to hurry your new car - put the miles on the "old" one and have a fresh new one - what a deal! [|)]

Sheilaann, I come to you on one knee begging for forgiveness and apologizing for my earlier doubts and unthoughtful comments.

Sorry to hear of the trouble, hope it all ends well for you.

MMMM...I wonder how a little crow will taste with the humble pie I'm eating right now?

To get the picture in the signature you need to have a site to upload the image to, this is a good free one:

www.photobucket.com

You load the image to the site from your PC, copy the full text from the Img box under the picture at the site, past this text into your signature in your profile and that's it.

Simple?

The FAQ section should have an explanation also.

Wow, that's cool you get a whole new car, what are they going to do with the old one? Who knows maybe, if their going to scrap it, you can buy it cheap and have 2 PT's for the price of one.[8D]

HI Sheila,
I purchased my PT in February from a dealer in Southern Maryland.
I've had one recall so far. Where was your dealership?
Let us know what happens with this recall/replacement car.
What will they do with your old car?
Are you getting an exact replacement?
I thought cars didn't rust these days?

Hi Frances, will keep you posted. Bought from Tate Chrysler/Jeep in Glen Burnie, MD. They only had two vehicles from that shipment and I bought one of them. It's not only Cruisers that are being recalled, it's whatever was on the ship when it came from Mexico. I have a call into the Manager to find out what they are going to do with my car. They told me that they found one exactly like mine in Niagara Falls, NY and it when they receive they will put the applicay package on it and this whole process will take 8-10 weeks.[:I]

I just dont see Chrysler being that generous even if the story was true. I live in Cleveland and granted, there is a lot of salt used here in the winter, but I see 5 and 6 year old Dodge Rams that are rotting away from the inside out. It's blatantly obvious that it's from a problem with that body style and/or the steel they used, but Chrysler sure as heck didn't help out the people who bought those any.

A guy next door to me has a loaded V10 SLT that probably cost around $30,000 new and the thing looks like you need a tetanus shot just to open the doors!

Well, it is true. Guess salt water damage is not the same as road salt. I'm just glad DC is standing by their product and replacing it.
