I bought mine from Wycoff from their internet sales for $14.25 plus shipping of $11.30 (filter plus locking gas cap). It came with an insturction booklet. P/N 82206886! I would look for it at your local 5 star stealer for a price check!!

Toss the grill if your using the filter. It only adds to the air restriction. The new filter kits no longer include the grill. New Cruiser's now come with the housing and the grill only to block debris access to the intake. With the filter in place, you do not need it.

I checked with the dealer that sold me the $43 filter. He also lists the #82206886 filter for $16.00. Either would have to be ordered. His parts people are now educated about this. I'll have before and after pictures at around 15,000 miles. The $43 filter was not part of a kit, just the filter. I didn't think this item would attract so much interest.

Just looking on eBay. They show filter and housing ('01,'02) for $20 plus $5.50 S&H. Good picture as well. Go to eBay, Automotive, PT Cruiser, then scroll down.

There's a way of using a Briggs & Stratton #5063 to get a next-best-thing level of cabin air filtration.
More like 'better' not 'next-best-thing'. The housing for the mopar one leaves gaps for dirty air to just go right around the filter. The B&S 5063 actually plugs the hole going down to the fan (no way dirty air could get around it).
*Side Note. B&S replaced the 5063 with the 5069 (thicker filter). However, the 5069 is WAY to much filter for the PT's AC to handle and will not work properly (personal experience). I bought 4 of the 5063's while I still could. It was just a couple of months ago that I found them at Lowes for $13 each.
