Someone told me about the recall, I didn't personally hear about it. I read links to articles that have been posted here. Does anyone know if there might be a chrysler site that we can check to see if our vin# is one that is being recalled? I need to find out fast, I am about to leave the states for a few years and I would like to get this taken care of before I go!!

Supposed to affect only PT's with automatics, year models 2001-2005. Dealers need to get any replacement parts, notices have to be sent out, and most likely the dealer will ask/require you set up an appointment to have the recall done to prevent too many owners from coming in on any particular day. From what I've heard, the fix is to inspect the condition of the PS hoses and replace them if necessary and/or to relocate/move them so the hoses do not contact the transmission and verify the hoses are torqued to specs.

Might want to call your dealer and/or Chrysler, 1-800-853-1408 or 1-800-853-1403 (Chrysler's recall center), explain your situation and see if they can fix your car before you leave.

[:I]I've went by the dealer today, asked if they heard of recall. Answer, No. They Said, the only recall was on a seal and that was taken care of in 2001 before I owned the car. The Lady was nice and said their usually the last to know these things.
My line doesn't look as bad as one in the picture. I'm still going in to have a clip put on, even if I have to pay for it. One ounce of prevention better than a pound of cure. I'm glad this forum is up on stuff like this. More than once, I've been helped hear.
Thanks, Guys[8D]
