Mine burned....
I already lost my cruiser to an engine fire. Anybody else out there have a fire?

You must not be alone. On 2 June 04 a recall was initiated for all non-turbo PT Cruisers. Recall no. is 04V268000, and covers 438,392 vehicles. Look under www.recalls.gov A power steering hose might be improperly routed causing a leak, with the possibility of fire.

your trouble.Hope every thing works out in your favor. How long ago did this happen?Are you going to get it fixed or replaced?Keep us posted.

Just saw a news report, it said ALL PT Cruisers were being recalled for a pwr steering line that leaks and causes eng bay fire.

It burned 4/15/04. I do not know if it is counted in the 9 fires that are being reported. It was a total loss. My insurance paid for it, but it can never be replaced. I bought it in January of '01. I waited 8 months for it. I don't think that I can buy another one and have peace of mind. It had only 27,000 miles on it. I want to know what Daimler Chrysler is going to do for those of us that lost their cars because of their design flaw.
