I just stuck with the ole chrome surround with the standard "PT Cruiser" logo.

My first mod on all three of my Cruisers was to get out the hair dryer and remove the dealer badges , still trying to find a plain chrome cover for the wifes DC2.

I actually got lucky. The dealer I bought mine from in Cary, NC doesn't put sticers on their vehicles and they didn't have the front plate bracket installed either!

My car was about two hours old when I removed the dealer emblem, dealer plate (both front AND back) and cheesy flame pinstriping they automatically put on ALL of their PT Cruisers.
The dealer said they would do it, but their detail guy was not there at the time. They told me to bring it back the next day. I told him I'll just do it when I get home. He warned me that if I caused damage doing such things it would void my warranty! I wasn't even off the lot and he was trying to get out of warranty work!
If removing the pinstriping would damage/remove the paint, then the paint was not applied properly and there would have been warranty work covered!
Anyway, I put my old Mopar Performance "the power to win" plate surround off my old Super Bee on the back. There is an infinite supply of different surrounds you can get and you can even create your own at some places. The choice is yours.

My wife's Pt plate bracket states in chrome lettering "MAKE WAY FOR THE PRINCESS". My sister sent it to her.

Here in Florida a couple of months ago, a fellow went to court because he had a plate frame that covered the wording on the bottom of the plate. He LOST the case!!!![xx(] All of the dealers put a frame around the plate, FREE advertising. I took ALL dealer info OFF a short time after I bought it.

Hooligan,

A bill going thru the legislature right now will do away with the penalty of covering that wording. You must however show the states name, the registration sticker with month and year and of course the lettering/numbering on the plate itself. This all came about because the person getting the citation was an aid to one of the congress persons and was off fighting the ticket when he/she was needed for something else. The congress person was upset and put a bill in motion to stop this kind of citation.
