I replied to your post yesterday,Mojito, but I see it didn't take. Anyway, welcome to the forum. Oh, our premium, 91 octaine is $2.50 per gallon here in California and I only get 17 mpg with my GT, so if you have any extra 95 octaine at $0.50 I'll take a tanker load![8)]

That's a liter, not a gallon. $2.5 a gallon would result in about $0.66 a liter, so the difference is not that great. Do you still need a tanker? If you do, load it with new PT's on the way to Russia, coz I had to pay EUR 29000 (US$33600) for mine because of import duties. And yes, they sell Mexican made US cars for Euros here, because DC "is a European company" (read: Euro is more expensive than dollar these days) [)] I'm sure they'll remember their American origin as soon as dollar will pass 1:1 against Euro
What do you call 95 in US then? 98? In Germany I even saw 100! [:0]

$0.50 per liter is a good price for 95. I pay $0.52 for 93 here in Puerto Rico. I like the side markers and the smaller rear bumper.

Is it really smaller? I wouldn't have thought so. And you don't have side markers on your car?!! Really strange!

The highest I've seen in California is 91 Octaine. This is what I use in my PT GT. I'll some pictures of mine soon and post them. Your emblems on the rear are different than in the US. I've changed mine. I'll get pictures of it.

You must get quite a lot of detonation on 91. Is your car shaking on idle?

91 or 92 Octane is about the highest you can buy at a typical station, but I live near Infineon Raceway (Napa, 20 miles north of San Francisco) and you can pull into the paddock area and fill up with 92-95-98 or 100. When I was there last year I think the 98 was about $3 a gallon, sure it is much more now.

Mojito, I think the US cars are set up for lower octaine fuel. As Mike said 91 and 92 are the highes other than racing fuel. My car runs smooth as silk on 91. They say we can use the 87 or 89 but it degrades the performance.

Hmm, interesting.
I aslo found out today from a dealer that European GT are not speed locked at 200 km/h (125 mph) (US GTs supposedly are). They said someone did 230 (143), but that was 'uncomfortable' .
I don't know whether it's true or not, or why would anyone drive at such a speed (Ok, I once did 220 on my Skoda Octavia, but only to try it out [8D]), just telling you what I heard.
P.S. Perhaps I shoudl rename this thread to something like "US versus Eropan PT's"?

143 MPH in a PT? Yeah, I'd say 'uncomfortable' would be an understatement in these cars.
