K&N filter for 06 cruiser

Has anybody tried to put a dropin K&N filter in their 06 cruiser? I checked K&N's site,took the number for the filter and then proceeded to the parts shop only to find out that the filter that they suggest does not fit. I took mine out of my car and compared it with the new one and the K&N was about 1.5" wider than my stock. Does anybody know which filter actually fits the 06's?

I don't know about the K & N, but I finally found that both Race & Street and PT Boutique have the AiRaid intake kit.

Yes, chrysler changed the size of the filter on the '06's.

I'll check my K&N number when I get home... I installed mine just fine, bought mine on ebay, and actually had the filter 2-days after buying it. Crazy fast shipping. I am at work right now, but I'll get that number for you.

Mine's a 2006 Non-Turbo, so it will most likely be different if you have a turbo, let me know.

Maggie at Race and Street has the drop in for the 2006-07. Go to her site and on the filter page is a drop down menu and select the '06+ filter.

Mine is a nonturbo,I looked on K&N's site and it says they are the same or all PT's even the 06. The number is 33-2153. I was also looking at AFE filter,apparently they are better than K&N but of course nobody can find me on on the west coast of Canada.

The filter they list is the same one I tried in my PT and it was wider,same lenght but too wide to fit in the air box.

Okay, you are not going to believe this, but here are the K&N part numbers for the filters
2001-2005 is #33-2153
2006 & up is #33-2351

Maggie has both in stock.

tpscruiser beat me to it... I didn't get a chance to check the numbers until this morning. The 33-2351 is the K&N I have installed in my car. Works great, much better gas mileage with the drop-in K&N.

I have a K&N filter in my 06 l,If you was a louder sound this won't do it for you. Nothing changed except for it's size.
