I have a a 05 PT cruiser convertible. Both passenger side windows do not go down. there is no movement at all not even the little down when you open the door.
I have checked all the fuses none indicate passenger side only and none are blown. I have replace the switch no joy. Here is a little history it was miss firing and the service engine light was on. Before I drove to my fathers house (he had the engine scanner) I disconnected the battery (positive terminal) just to see if clearing the computer would fix the problem. again no joy (it was worth a shot (maybe)) The engine code showed miss firing on cylinder 3 switch plugs 2 and 3 the problem moved so I replaced the plug. What does this have to do with the windows not working maybe nothing but immediatly after changing the plugs the windows stopped working and I don't really believe in coinsidence. I was wondering if maybe I reset something disconnecting the battery. I can't say for sure that the windows worked between changing the plugs and disconnecting the battery. Any ideas would be appreciated Thanks |

Thanks for the replies.
1 Unfortunatly I have no warrenty left. 2 I did check the voltage at the switch and it was good. 3 I thought about the wires and will do that but need to order them and wanted to get it going. and the plugs fixed it (for now) Actually my stupidity last week fixed the problem. I left the lights on killed the battery and after boosting it TA DA they worked again. So I now have aperfectly good used power window switch for sale if any one wants it Thanks again for the replies |

While I'm glad your windows are working, I'm puzzled by what the cause was....
Another place to look - if it ever comes back - the windows need the key on to wrok, right? I'll bet there's 2 wires that goes thru key switch - one for driver side, one for passenger side...
