I only provided the link. All the thanks for the work goes to those who did the work finding a way to fix the MFS. Myself (knock on wood) have never had to replace or repair the switch but I do have a brand new, never used, switch standing by in my spares pile if it ever goes bad.

I find it ironic that the colors red, white, and blue stand for freedom until they are flashing behind you.

Having read about the problems with the OEM multi-function switch, and finding that a switch would be a costly purchase, I turned again to eBay for a solution.
I now have a retro fog light switch (actual NOS 1930's-1940's Chevy fog light switch with a built in light in the knob) mounted in the floor console where the accessory power outlet had resided.
I have also made use of existing wiring in the harness and auto salvage yard shopping to add:
Power adjustable mirrors with OEM switch (and necessary correct trim panels)
Accessory power outlets below radio dash panel and in rear storage area
Floor console flood light that fits in the rectangular hole at bottom of dash center console (which hole had me mystified until I discovered the light at a salvage yard)
I really like your idea . Our Cruiser came with out Fogs. I was thinking we might get the fog light in the cluster to come on , and use the # 8 fuse slot . Probably use silverstars in the fog lamps .
After this project i would like to add powerlocks , but controlled by a car starter . Car starter installer guy said " was possible " does anyone know where I can get the wiring diagrams for our Cruisers ? Ours is 2003 ,the base model .

Both the Haynes and Chilton manuals have the wiring documentation pages in the back of the book and in addition, we have a free 2001-2004 technical document link plus the PT Cruiser Technical Documents Library on the top of the Tech & Performance section of this forum.

Hey everyone, I'm having issues with my fog light, when I went to shut off my PT, I turned my lights off but somehow my fog lights were still on, so I turned the lights off again and the fogs turned off, but when I started the car again and tried to turn my lights on, only my headlights turned on, the fogs won't turn on. Suggestions?

Make sure high beams off, check fuse is still good. Else your switch might be starting to go.

Yes, but first check with your traffic roadway laws , as to what color you can use, and which colors you are not allowed .Then check Ebay .

I think the fog lights are 9006 bulbs .

Old Part# - 04671594AD (2001 PT)
New Part# - 05073049AB (dated 6/2/07)
Cost to purchase at dealer - $63.45 plus tax

I went to the dealership today to get a switch and found it was $143 and they quoted me $200 to install it.

Smile Re: Replace Multifunction Switch w/fog lamps

In regards to the fog-lights staying on, I took Crewzin's advice and I removed the #8 fuse .. Worked like a charm. I would prefer to keep the fuse in place but when would I ever really NEED fog lights??
