Has anyone had an issue with the door locks having a mind all there own? I can go out to the car and all of a sudden they will just start locking and unlocking for a few times. I have no idea if it happens when no one is around.
Thanks in advance for any help Joe |

I did a few years ago. It's a very common problem that the dealer took care of by replacing a defective lock switch in the door.

To keep my costs down I'll probably have to change this out myself, do you happen to know if it was one particular switch or can it be any of the switches could make it happen?
Thanks for the information joe |

Try changing the battery in your remote. A low battery can cause the remote to do crazy things. Go near the car with and without the remote to see if thats what's causing your problem. If not its the notorious activators. Don't know if you can disconnect one at a time to see what one is noisy and causing problems.

I've changed out the remote batteries, no go. It will do it when the remote is not near the car.
I haven't bought a manual yet, so are the activators the same as the door lock switches? joe |

After some searching thru my files I found the invoice for the "crazy door locks". I had this fixed on my 2003 PT in Jan 0f 2004. I haven't had the problem since they fixed it.
The invoice says: Perform DRBIII Check fault code found drive door switch failure. Perform ohms test from drive door lock cylinder switch to RKE module. Found lock cylinder switch short out.

Sounds like she's kinda usta it sooner , ![]() Nope, not in my pocket. It happens when the keys are still in the house. Ok, I've got two options now (besides the RKE module), 1 is to just buy the door switch or 2 to buy a manual from HELM inc. (if they have it) and see what the ohms are supposed to be, and it would also tell me if it is the RKE. I'll look it up and see if they have one first. joe |

Mine had the same thing happen and it turned out to be moisture in one of the door lock silinoid...replaced and no problems since.
This was after they removed the interior of the car to get at the rke. |
