my folks are out here for a vacation, and rented a calliber (they requested a cruiser), and it is not near as nice as my five year old cruiser. it feels cramped inside with the small windows, the cvt is strange, and the engine is loud and drones on and on. when the caliber came out, my wife and i looked at them and were not impressed, and now after living with one for a few days i feel my initial impressions were right.
also, unlike the cruiser, the caliber has done poorly in comparo tests in many of the car mags. (and as mentioned, in consumer reports...) i'd say if you want a new car, get a deal on a newer cruiser and keep on cruisin'!
