Boy have you got that right....Today, I had to go to a city about 150 miles north of me. On the way up, I was travelling about 120 kms./hour (75 mph) into at 50 kms. wind (30 mph) with the top down most of the way and all I got was 22 mpg (imp.) which works out to about 17.5 miles per US gallon. On the way home tonight, the wind had gone down to about 20 mph, I had the top up and I only went 110 kms. (68 mph) and I got 43 mpg (imp) which is 35 mpg US gallons. That is by far the best I have ever done, as I said earlier, it is a 2005 Convertible Touring Editon (no turbo) with about 3500 kms. (2200 miles) on it.

Just turned over 11,000 miles and filled the tank today. Total gasoline used is 510 gallons. Always Super Shell. Carpe wallet!
Doing the math, that's 21.5 mpg. 3/4ths of our miles are local, heavy foot. On the highway, we usually do about 25 mpg, averaging 70 to 75 mph. Carpe Cruiser, boys (and girls, too!) ![]() .

I just bought a Stone White 2004 PT Cruiser Limited Edition. Me, my wife, and my 3 year old daughter love it!
I just filled up a little while ago and found out that I am getting 22 MPG in city. Not bad at all in my book. I will send some pics later on. |

Mine is a '05 with 79,000 miles and I get about 22 mpg or better driving 80mph all the time. If I drive like a normal person I have seen it as high as 28 mpg and that is in south Texas with the A/C on. I run all syn. fluids w/ KN intake.
