What MPG are you getting?

I posted this in another thread, but thought I'd post here to get more responses

When we bought the Cruiser, we were expecting around 23 mpg or so, after all, its a 4 cylinder I was shocked to see 16 mpg the last time I calculated. I drive conservatively, but there are a few hill here and there in town. I was curious to see what others are getting.

I thought about selling it and getting some thing else, but I have to say I've fallin for this car.

It's a very heavy 4 cylinder. Love the car, not the mpg.

My last fillup checked in at 25. Thats with half of the time on a 4 lane highway and the other half on 2 lane country roads. I've got 78,000 on my PT as of yesterday.

I usually get right around 20mpg in mixed city/highway driving. I tend to accelerate pretty quickly for the most part as I have a Stage 1 equipped Turbo, automatic trans. I've gotten 24mph a few times when running through a whole tank on the freeway only, but that's at 80 - 90mph so I'm not complaining.

Ok, thanks guys, I am totally encouraged. Maybe a tune up will help, it has about 58,000 miles on it.
1wedwoody, Is thata 2003? Is it a turbo? I love the scoop. Did you add the strips on the wood? Ok, sorry about the 20 questions :P

The MPG can vary a crazy amount in this car.. but for us it's usually:

16-19 City

22-26 Highway (usually up around 26)

I find that the type of gas can have a massive effect on MPG.. that.. and our heavy heavy feet

I'm getting about 24 mpg. Mostly highway miles (55 mph not 70 mph). 2001 w/75,000 miles.
If you opt for the tune-up, replace the spark plug wires as well.

On my last highway trip while doing about 70mph, I got 35 mpg (imperial) which works out to 28 mpg US. My car is a 2005 Touring Edition Convertible with only 2800 kms. (1740 miles). I'm still hoping that improves a little once the engine loosens up.

Mine is a 2002. No turbo. JC Whitney scoop. Wood kit is from PT Woody purchased through Moss Motors.
