Got Navi Problems

My '05 has about 67,000 miles, so I guess maintanence issues will begin to crop up. My Chrysler navigation is starting to crap out. After loading the destination, the unit's GPS sometimes gets dimencia and dosen't know where it is, leaving me out in left field with the sun in my eyes. I'm a salesman and find the navi to be an immense help driving from location to location. Anyone have this problem with their Chrysler units? I guess the alternative is to go to the dealer to have them yank it out and send it to their repair shop.

An extended warranty would have helped. I didn't opt for it.

As newbie with an 05 with the Nav system.....does the disc have to be in all the time to use the system?
What is the latest disc & does anyone have a copy to use or sell?

This is the system that is also the radio. The DVD has to been in all the time for the navi to run. If you wanted to play a CD, you would have to eject the DVD first. I have the latest DVD that came out last September. When the rain stops, I'll go out and get you the number. I believe they come out with new discs once a year, usually around September. I think the cost is somewhere around $125. including shipping. The system by Chrysler is actually made by Alpine and is a good quality unit.
