Default Spilled Coffee Today In My PT

How Aggrevating. I bought a Starbuck's Coffee today. As I went back in the car, my Blue Tooth phone system was ringing. When I answered it I spilled the whole damn thing. Luckily it all went on the floor mat. I did the best I could to clean it, but now my car smells like Starbucks. I'm mad at myself for the stupidity.

You might try Fabreeze (sp) for autos to clean up and for the smell. That's the reason I allow no drinking or eating in my cars. My wife, she does it in her cars, I can see the stains and crap when I clean her car.

Thanks Mean Green. The Fabreeze is a good idea.

I agree, Fabreeze works very well.

Since it's all on/in the floor mat then you're in luck. Take the floor mat out and lay it on your driveway, then spray it down with the hose. Once wet, use your usual car wash soap and a brush to scrub it, then rinse again. Rinse again. If you have a shop vac use that to suck up as much water as you can, then let it sit in the sun to dry.

I've been using the Chrysler slush mats made for the PT Cruiser. You could dump a quart of oil in them, or a gallon of milk and no worries.

I'd rather have to clean up the messes INSIDE my car than to repair the damage done OUTSIDE the car. A heckava cheaper deal anyhoo.

Believe me-- I'm a Crash Analyst for ODOT (state work) and I've read so much DMV crash reports of drivers being so distracted trying to stop the messes from happening, and *CRASH* they have an awful ding to their car. If I had a cup about to spill over to the floor, I'd just let it go. I can always get another cup that costs $3.50 than to pay $350.00 to fix the danged ding.

Well you and I are definately on the same page. I just let it go. I did do my share of cursing and swearing. Didn't you hear me?

simple answer. SHAVING CREAM. works miracles. .99 cent colgate shaving cream rub in, let sit scrub out with warm water and wash cloth. I have used this method for floor mats recovered from salvage yards and they look new.
