Tires

Hey all,
I need to get a set of tires for mt pt. Any thoughts and why? I live in central Illinois and we get some snow I was looking for a high performance all season. Any Suggestions?

You will probably get a lot of suggestions. Just about anything is better than the original Goodyear tires. I had an awful time with mine. After a very long process and no successful resolution, I was able to get Goodyear to buy them back. I could replace them with anything I wanted as long as it was not a Goodyear product. Fine with me! I chose BFGoodrich and am extremely pleased.

As a side note... I am disappointed in Goodyear as a company. About a year ago we bought a new Prius for my wife. It comes with Goodyear Integra. So far they seem OK, but about a year ago Goodyear stopped providing the free rotation for the new tires that are installed by the car manufacturer. The vehicle we had before that had Bridgestone tires and the Firestone dealership did not have a problem providing the free rotation for me -- just as if I bought the tires new from them.

Tire preferences are almost like religion or politics....
I like Michelin, and love the Michelin HydroEdge tires I have on now. About 25,000 miles on them and no sign of wear (well, I did scrub a sidewall...)
They are better in the rain than the Good-for-a-years were in the dry. Only problem is the Hydroedge doesn't come in 17" if you have a GT....

I live in Illinois about 90 mi. south of Chicago. I went to TireRack on the internet and found that Goodyear Assurance TripleTred was the best bang for the buck. I have had them on the car almost 2yrs and love them. The price is $115.00 per tire. P.S. I also have a 2002 Chrysler Concord LXi and put Goodyear Assurance ComforTred
at the same time that I replaced the 2002 PT tires, and again love the tires.
