I know they tried this before.....but if we all can avoid the gas stations owned by the mideast oil companies....maybe we can put the "squeeze" on their profits. I know of some that are not Mideast owned...Sunnoco, Connaco, Getty, Hess, BP/Amaco.....any others??
Will this work? Larry

lots of reasons for high gas prices
1) duh....oil prices 2) not enough refineries 3) 1.8 billion chinese in their new found economic freedom decided to ditch their bikes for Mercedes 4) Canadians coming down and sweeping up US supply along the northern states (oil execs admit to increasing the price in WA because of Canadians) 5) keep supply low, demand high so prices will go up so that Exxon CEOs with triple chins can get a $100 million bonus 6) Ludacris and other rappers snappin up "luxury" SUVs causing other wannabees to do it also (rolling in a v8 with 25in steel rims isn't gonna save gas) 7) nearly hundreds of billions dollars in automobile sales worldwide annually. |

Nope, I like this forum and don't want to get kicked off. I just get really tired of these boycott posts. People just don't have a clue.

A boycott wont work unless it can be sustained for several weeks, or longer. and enough drivers must join the boycott. But 1 fact is you will NEVER get us out our cars. We have to get to work, to the stores etc.... and in most areas of the country, public transportation is non-excistant (sp?). We need our private cars.
This country imports very little mid-east oil, but we do live in a world wide market of supply and demand. Right now the Chinese are building more cars for their domestic and export markets, plus ships etc. A few months ago I had a hard time getting some big rig truck parts, do to a steel shortage, most of the ore and steel was and is going to China. That and the instability of the mid-east, Turkey vs the kurds, Isreal vs almost everybody (not entirely their fault) all this contributes to the raise of crude oil . And you can't blame Bush for all of it. Any president would be blamed for the high prices no matter how he (or she (shudders) is)! These opinions are my own, I am now off my soapbox. Remember what opinions are, everyone has one and they generally stink!
