Can't do anything about maintenance, but the custom work is all about the forums and a little about what you see on the street. Once someone joins the forums, it almost gets addictive to start moding the vehicle. There's so much talk and pictures floating around you feel you just gotta do something to make the PT unique and different from the run of the mill PT on the streets.

The speed additions are something else and a lot of owners just want their car (any car) faster than the norm.

Glad I didn't keep all my receipts. I'd probably find I'm in the same boat as you as far as spending. Just enjoy the ride.

I want to make you feel better!
I have never moded a car! The most I have ever done was put running boards on my Dodge Caravan!
Last October I bought a plain Vanilla (my bottom choice of color) 2006, Touring NT, standard tranny. I paid just under $16K; but, it was such a great buy, that I decided I could do something with it.
Well here I am, a year later, having joined 3 or 4 PT clubs and sites; I now have a very unique vehicle called the "soonercruiser"! I added up the major receipts (only the ones above $30) in preparation for selling it, since I picked up a unique, low mileage 200GT Convertible.......and....
The total is over $28K!!!!
I will never get anything near that out of the car. But, it's been a great, fun year; lots of shows - a garage wall full of trophies & plaques! It provided me the fun and satisfaction of doing it in a year - that I will never forget!

I ordered my '02 PT, and before it even arrived, I had ordered over $1,000 of goodies - Billet grille, dual exhaust,...

At least I saved a bit on my '05 - moved the Grille, aoogah horn over, bought strut bar, tailights used from forum members...

The PT mod bug is an expensive one, but I love it
Im cutting down though, just added 2 new "modding bugs" to my arsenal, tattoos and mountain biking
But i'll always find time to throw an extra something on the AnarchyPT
