Hello all. Just joined up looking for info on installing billet grill on mom's PT. I got one slightly used from a show car for her as a Christmas gift. Just looking for some instructions on removal/install. I've searched around and found some text info but I was looking for a DIY.

Nice site!

Hi, Welcome to the forum.

Besides the 4 bolts/screws (2 on each side) that you see on the top of the grill, it's held on by two plastic hooks. These hooks are located , one on each side, on the lower part of the inside of the grill. They are fragile and can break off easily (take my word on that), so take the top bolts off, and grab the grill on the lower corners and lift up and out. Don't force it.

This is how it's done on the early models of the PT. Don't know if they changed anything on the grills of the newer models.

Can't help with the install as there are many of them out there in the aftermarket and a dozen different ways to make them fit. Some just slip right over the exsisting grill, some replace the old grill.

Thanks for the help and Welcome! Hers is an 01 and I don't want to break anything. The grill was sold by one of the PT enthusiasts websites so I'm not sure what brand, if any, it is.

The lower section I've read is a PITA. About how long would you think it should take to install? I'm fairly mechanical and have the tools. Just wondering if I got time to get it on before dark since it'll be done outside.

Probably too late for your answer on the lower grill. If it's the kind that needs to be cut out before the installation of the new grill, I'd leave it till you have plenty of time. I didn't do it myself, but I've read where the lower connection tabs are a PITA and you need to take your time and do it right.
