Mopar BOV help!!

Hey all. Im kinda new to the forums and I have looked around and couldnt find much info on the Mopar BOV for the auto pt gt's. I have an 04 automatic pt gt, and I just ordered the mopar bov conversion kit, but my question is...how good will it sound being as my car is an automatic not a manual!!?!?!?!? Please Help!! Thanks!

Welcome to the forum. Hopefully someone will come along with the answer to your question but you might have a better chance of an answer if you posted in the "Turbo" section of the forum. Some Turbo owners only browse that section as it pertains to their particular vehicle, but there are Turbo owners on here also so hang loose for awhile and ....Happy New year to you.

how it sounds depends on the owner. some like it, some don't.

It will be just as loud as a manual trans car, it just will not go off unless you let up off the gas between shifts like you would do with a manual trans, under normal automatic driving you will not hear it very much at all.

But if you have an Autostick you can play with the BOV between shifts in Autostick mode and people will hear it.

Many people were saying it acutally has NO perfomance gain whatsoever. I am torn between what to believe!!! Half say it does nothing but make noise, the other half say they see a noticable gain in power...WHICH IS IT!!! im so lost!

I have explained this before but i can not find the post to guide you so here it is again:

No BOV of any brand makes or increases power! All they do is vent the unneeded hot compressed air to the atmosphere, (makes noise), so that it does not slam into the throttle plate and or turbine when you let off the gas, it also helps to prevent turbo surge by letting out the hot compressed air pressure which then makes it easier for the turbo to spool up again with cooler air when you do hit the gas.

Sorry but there is no way a BOV can make or add more power, actually if it leaks, or is adjustable, but not adjusted properly it can cause power loss due to boost leak.

it is only 3 10mm bolts, but the one toward the passenger side can be a real pain here is a link to a install pdf file (I tried to attach it but it is to large), that has color pictures and is a lot better than the sheet that Mopar provides.
