Rear driver's side storage area question

Is there suppose to be a hinged "trap door" that sits inside the driver's side rear quarter storage compartment?

On my 2001, It's not exactly hinged, just a trap door that sits in the opening that lifts off to reveal more space underneath.

In case you didn't know; at one time there was an option of a subwoofer for the stereo that took up that whole space your talking about.

I've got a 2006 Touring, and a 2006 GT Vert; neither have covers on that storage area. I wonder if there is an accessory cover?

Nope. 8 1/2 inch subwoofer Bass speaker in a Nitrous looking canister powered by a 200w Clarion Amp under the drivers front seat.

I misunderstood!
I thought that there was a door/cover for the whole, larger, lower storage area itself.

Crewzin, were those covers only on the first couple years' models? I've got a 2003 LE, and never even heard of them.

(But what I REALLY want are Crewzin's wood shelf and deck. After hunting all over the internet I've found two people who have made them: one guy no longer makes the decks --- and he's WAY backed up on making the shelves --- and the other guy stopped entirely due to illness. Any woodworkers out there wanting to take on a project?!?)

OK, as far as the cubby hole cover, don't know when they stopped making them. Best bet is to try a salave yard for an older cruiser.

Crewzin: about the wood goodies... yeah, I've contacted that guy; he's the one who no longer makes the decks, just the shelves, and he's said he's got a months-long backup on those. (He told me he'd email when he's ready to be taking new orders..... pretty stuff on his site, though!)
