not saying there junk but i know i would never drive it from wisconsin to florada! im not rich and i need a car i can trust. iv had many many 500.00 cars that had less problems so far in the few weeks that i owed the pt i have a rattleing noise coming from the frount of the motor. break dust like crazy and groves in the roters . all this is normal according to the dealer.except 4 the oil leak from the head that they claim will be fixed with a retorqe of the head bolts ... good luck with that!

ptma767,

Question for you. How did the first owner (3 years ago) treat the PT your now driving? Did he run it into the ground, run it 5 to 10K without an oil change and didn't bother to check to see if it was low on oil? Did he know that he was going to dump it right before his 3 year/36,000 miles warranty was up so he didn't give a darn how he treated it?

The point is, you don't know how it was taken care of before you became the new owner.

Buying a used car is a gamble.

dont get me wrong my pt drives nice but untill i get things sorted out im just not too happy! but i hope buy summer things will be sorted out . its just good for everyone to see the good and the bad so they can chose .i know ill proably keep the pt and have some good times and bad . most of what i wrong should have been found by the DEALER INSPECTION!!! then i would not have these problems.

Luckaly, you have the long warranty and things will get back to where your enjoying the Cruiser. The CarFax should have been run before you bought it, plus, not every trip to fix a problem gets into the report. There's hundreds of thousands of auto shops that don't report what work is done, so nobody knows except the owner.

I've gotta ditto Crewzin here: my Cruiser is five years old this month, and I just had my FIRST real problem. That strikes me, at least, as reasonable for a daily driver. Sure there are the occasional lemons, but isn't that true with ALL cars? (My sister, a mechanic herself and a now-former longtime Toyota lover, bought one where the engine literally blew up at five months --- does that make all Toyotas crap? No, she just got a lemon, and it was unfortunately also from a lousy dealer: so now she has a Saturn. Dependable but dull, in my opinion.)

I say go for the Cruiser, skip the wannabe.
