puchased 2002 pt cruiser sound ok when i start it but going down the road has a noise almost like hum , put it in neutral rolling still there . some one put new tire on it Cooper Brand last year before they traded it in it had 5700 on it think hum might be the tires from what i been reading most say there cruisers are quiet or do you get some humming frome engine or automatic trannys in these i find mine kind stiff riding like how old vettes ride other then that i like it

If I read your post right (hard to do) the noise was still there in neutral, so tires are a likely suspect.
Check the tire pressure and try different roads.

sounds like you live in a place where they dont mandate 'quiet' blacktop. what brand of tires are you using? some tires are real noisy compared to others.
